Cruise Ship Shore Excursions


Get the most out of your short stay in port with our Hobart hop-on hop-off shore excursion. Our iconic red open-top double decker buses are the best way to see and explore Hobart’s sights and attractions. Stay on board for the complete 90-minute City Loop Tour or hop-on and hop-off as many times as you like – the choice is yours!


Red Decker buses depart from the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre in Hobart. Most importantly, it’s a short 10 minute walk from the Cruise Ship Terminal. On cruise ship days, our entire fleet of 6 iconic red open-top and closed-top double decker buses can be seen touring the city. Buses depart hourly from Stop A (Travel Centre) at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm with the last bus arriving back at Stop A (Travel Centre) at 4:30 pm. Additional departures are added on an as needed basis. Please ask your driver for a copy of the timetable on the day.

Buses will depart every 30 minutes, between 9:00 am – 3:00 pm from the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre when the following cruise ships are in port:

Red Decker - Watermans Dock


All Red Decker ticket options are available for our Hobart hop-on hop-off shore excursion. Choose from a 24 or 48 hour ticket depending on how many days your cruise ship is in port. Or combine your City Loop ticket with a tour of kunanyi/Mt Wellington or the historic Richmond village.

Bookings are recommended on cruise ship days. Save time on the day and BOOK NOW.


Our fleet of modern double-decker buses are wheelchair accessible. For ramp access, we recommend boarding at the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre (corner of Elizabeth and Davey Street). Please listen to your driver’s instructions when boarding. The wheelchair bay is located on the lower deck towards the front of the bus.
